Reggie Buchanan, 24, is the son of Reggie and Mary Buchanan. What a fighter! Born two months premature, Reggie has faced numerous challenges due to his early birth. His kidneys were under-developed at birth and the need for home dialysis began in his toddler years. His first kidney transplant soon followed. Reggie faced lung and continual bladder issues. In his teens, Reggie's sister, Lindsey, gave a kidney for his second transplant. This transplant has improved the quality of Reggie's life.

Reggie loves taking daily walks with his dad. He loved his dog, Ripley, "Rippie". He loves to spend time with his many nieces and nephews whenever possible. 

In Special Olympics, Reggie has participated in track and field events. He began riding lessons; however, due to atlantoaxial subluxation, a condition that may occur in a person with Down Syndrome, he could not continue the equestrian lessons.
