Ava was diagnosed with Lama2 muscular dystrophy or better known as a type of congenital muscular dystrophy (CMD) at 6 months of age. It is a very rare genetic disorder; 1 out of 500,000. Her body does not produce merosin which is a protein that is part of the tissues in the skeletal muscle. Ava will most likely never be able to walk & it is a degenerative disease. We know God can absolutely heal her but for now we want her to have the best quality of life we can offer. Ava does not let any of these things identify who she is. Ava is the most joyful & content baby ever. She inspires us & the people around her. She truly shows everyone that no matter the circumstances you can still be a joyful person. She puts a smile on everyone’s faces that she meets & she will take up a special part of your heart. Although we know this is not going to be an easy road, we pray that we can always glorify the Lord with this trial we have to endure. He has given us a peace about her situation that gets us through the day to day.
